Respiratory
Practically everyone knows someone with a minor or major respiratory disease. These afflictions can have a tremendous effect on the quality of daily life. So can you, in the best possible way, as a CRA in Respiratory at PPD. Our Global Infectious and Respiratory area includes studies for Viral Infections, encompassing but not limited to HIV, hepatitis B and C, and RSV; Respiratory Diseases; and Bacterial and Fungal Infections. Here, you can gain a wide variety of respiratory trial experience for such conditions as asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis, and idiopathic pulmonary hypertension. Or help us study bacterial and fungal infections affecting the entire gamut of patient populations. There are also opportunities to take part in studies involving resistant bacterial infections. Whichever direction you choose, you’ll make a difference with Respiratory.
best-fit characteristics
If you’d like to develop many new skills and can work well under the pressure of low and rapid enrollment, Respiratory may be a good fit for you. You should enjoy analyzing the quality of data and ongoing data cleaning and have a passion for increasing your knowledge of the Respiratory and Physiology areas. The desire to build on your existing knowledge of several diagnostic methods (CT scan, x-ray, and MRI) and general education in microbiology will help you to thrive.
Your attributes and experience
For all of the diseases our trials cover, we take a specific approach, and you’ll need specialized knowledge to succeed. Because respiratory diseases often involve other body districts, a strong understanding of microbiology can be quite useful. Respiratory studies tend to be underestimated and depending on the type or phase of study and patient population, the enrollment process can be very fast and the number of participants low. So you’ll need to be able to handle that kind of pressure, use strong recruiting methods, and produce the results our clients seek.
Skills you can attain here
Within Respiratory, you will have the opportunity to gain specific training that will stimulate your curiosity and enhance your scientific knowledge. You can gain clinical and medical knowledge and become a subject-matter expert in a key therapy area, have access to training in a specific disease area in addition to protocol therapeutics, boost your enrollment skills, learn new recruiting techniques, and gain experience with rapid enrollment/seasonal studies.
